If you're looking for steady money, invest in large corporations that you know will not fail. Companies such as Apple (who will be producing their own TV's soon which means increase in stock) and such companies.

If you're looking to become a millionaire, then you'll need some connections.

For a person who is making 20k a year, I'd assume you have some rather good connections/friends who are very well off from investment. Ask around and you will surely find the answers to all your questions. There's also investment financial advisors who can lead you in the right direction. However, the good ones are quite expensive. Then, you can always rely on intuition and internet smarts or take a class at a local community college. Be proactive and don't just throw your money around because one person said this and another said that... kind of thing

Good luck,

Dr. Nakitu :)

I would strongly suggest you invest safely at 40 the risk taking ability goes down. Public Provident Fund is the best investment for you, the only drawback being you may not be able to use it for emergencies as it has a lock-in for the first 5 years. The fund after 15 years would mature at the time when you are 55 and presumably your kid should be 20+ thats the time your need for money would be more.
