Default How do we get our money out of investments, mutual funds and RRSP's without incurring hugh costs.?

We have used Raymond James to invest our money with and of course the last few years have been bad on the stock market. We would like to get our money out and invest in real estate as this seems like a better investment to us, but since these are all back end loaded funds, after checking with our investment firm, Raymond James, they quoted approximately $5,000.00 to withdraw our money. I am wondering if there is some way we can transfer money to a TFSA or even an RRSP to avoid these big fees as we are losing money just because of the economy as it is and want to avoid these fees. Thanks for your help.
