Default give my father my entire tax refund

Hi I have been helping my mom take care of my 2 younger siblings since I was 22 years old. Every year when I file for taxes I basically give my mother the whole refund since I'm caring her kids. She does not work, my brother and sister receive a very small amount of ssi, combined it's about $800 per month. I pay all our bills some rent, and household supplies. I'm 28 now with no kids of my own. I think if I lived on my own I would have much more free money. What percentage of my tax refund should I keep, and how much should I give to my mother. Thanks...I appreciate your feedback.

Your question says "give my father", but the details don't mention him. Assuming he isn't around, the first thing you should do is go over the the expenses and determine whether your mother and siblings could be your dependents. Look at the IRS worksheet for claiming dependents. If you are paying your fair share of the expenses, it would seem that your refund is yours, 100%.

Actually, sounds like you're already doing your share. Anything you want to give your mom is up to you.

if your mother and/or your siblings are getting SSI that is based on their needs and you admit you are paying their bills which means they are probably getting more SSI than they are entitled to since all sources of support and considered when SSI is awarded

your already paying for most everything, why are you giving her your refund. it's your mom's job to raise
your siblings, not yours. why can't she work? six years is a long enough time, you need to get your own place. how old are your two siblings? are you giving your refund to your mother or father? is your father there with you? does he work?
