Default can someone help me figure out i can pay my medical bills

Okay, I currently have 13 separate medical bills. I am about to pay the two smallest ones tomorrow. However all the rest are 300$ or more each, I can't afford that or I wouldn't be asking advice. I can't even afford to pay 20$ a month on each, because that would still be over 200$. I am 23, pregnant and have other bills. I don't want these to go to the collection agency though, because I have just got my credit up again finally! It is finally a decent credit score. I'm asking if there is anything I can do to get help paying previous bills, or can I get these bills put off a bit? Should I get a personal loan to pay these off? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks! Oh and is blue cross a horrible insurance or something, because I pay 80$/month for insurance and I still have over $4000 in medical bills?

ASK the babies father to help you out!!! After all he is partly responsible for your current condition.

No, Blue Cross is an excellent insurance, because you only pay 80$/month for insurance and only have over $4000 in medical bills. Most insurance costs over $400 per month. Without insurance, hospital bills can be over $10,000 per day to several million dollars.

Anyway, get the personal loan, ask for more time, do whatever you have to do to keep the bills from being sent to collections. Once they are in collections, even for just one day, that fact stays on your credit for 7 to 7 1/2 years, even if you paid them much earlier.

1st off, of the 13 bills, did you separate them by doctor/provider? Since pregnant, am guessing, that 1 is the OB, 1 could be for lab tests, 1 for an ultrasound, 1 for the radiologist that read the ultrasound. If so, that only totals 4 vs 13. So take all 4 and add each bills up for each doctor/provider. So, then figure out how much each of them are asking for. One could be for $2,000 (OB), lab tests can be $500, ultrasound $1,000 and the radiologist $250. Most doctors/providers will not accept $20 per month, but will need more, to stay out of collections. Since pregnant, your bills and treatment will continue to rise.

"Some" may allow you to "write off" some of the balance. But to do this, you would have to submit paperwork showing in fact you do not have the funds. and believe me they will request a ton of it.

What about baby daddy? Has he tried and paid any of these bills, or is it your problem? Get babydaddy to help pay these, since BOTH of you are responsible for this unborn child.

You might want to consider going to planned parenthood for the rest of your pregnancy to keep the cost down, since it is done on a sliding scale based on your income.

You purchased a policy that cost less, and by doing so, CHOSE a high deductible, thus the problem. But, if you had purchased a low deductible, the cost of your health insurance might have been at least $200 per month vs $80.

Either way, you need to get on the phone with these providers and see if they are willing to do a payment plan, and you will need to decide what expenses YOU need to cut, to pay them.

If you want Blue Cross to pay all your medical bills, PURCHASE an insurance policy that has $0 deductible. You pay $80 a month because your plan HAS a deductible. If you want a $0 deductible plan, expect to pay $700 a month (every month, not just the months that you have medical bills).

The fetus' father can help pay for some of the bills, if these bills are related to your pregnancy. (Remember, it takes 2 to tango).

You can ask friends and family for assistance.

You can reduce your bills and attempt to bring in more income.

You have those bills because you bought a cheap plan. Cut out your other expenses and you might be ok. The problem with a person loan is that you still have to pay it back, can you even make the payments?

Good Luck.

You pay $80/month for your health insurance. That's why you have $4000 worth of bills. You should have gotten some professional help to choose the plan. If you spent more per month, your out of pocket expenses would be lower. When you go cheap, you're taking on more risk.

Use a credit card and set up payment plans. There's also family that can lend money. They generally have the cheapest rates.

If you can't afford to pay on those bills, you won't qualify for a personal loan.

You're going to HAVE to cut down your "other expenses". Sounds like you're spending as much, or more, than you make, and THAT is the source of the problem.
