Your rent has nothing to do with the price of your home, its linked more to the original COST and other factors.

Some of our properties are over 400,000 GBP and we charge 81 a week for them. Because it is a fair rent for the location where the house is.

Your rent will cover costs of the house being rented and make the landlord a profit. If your rent was really connected to the value of the house you would see the rent increasing by massive amounts every year.

All good landlords put much of the rent into either the mortgage if one exists and into a repair/renovation fund for if something goes bad. The rest is spent on costs - whatever is left over is profit

Your house is worth what a housing surveyor tells you it is wortj
It has nothing to do with the rent you pay
Why not google recent properties sold in your postcode and that will give you an idea

Your home is worthless to YOU personally as it belongs to the council and you are just a tenant in it. You will NEVER be able to sell it as it does not belong to you. So why do you want to know what its worth?

It doesn't work like that, the rent is just the maximum amount that can be charged in your area....
Council houses vary in value dependent
on location, age etc.

If you are looking for a valuation for the right to buy then you need to talk to the people at the council about how they do it and if they have their own valuation officer and then you need to get your own valuation from three local estate agents to see if the council is fair. Your discount will not be applied until a valuation is in place.
