Default yahoo finance tracks composite exchange for closing prices, correct get this data

Yahoo Finance prices (open and close) are different than what the official exchange shows. If Yahoo gets data directly from the exchange why is it different? And where are they getting the composite price information?

They get their data from many different sources.

If their data is wrong, try to get them to correct it, but I don't think it will help you to know who their data provider is, unless you want to spend your life correcting everyone. Sometimes the data is adjusted after the close, or corrected after a day or two.

If you're going to use a free service for free data, you have to be patient. What do you expect for free?

Most people get their data through a broker. Download a free trial of a trading platform through any major brokerage and you won't have to fund the account for several months or a year. The trading platform will also give you momentous advantages and ability above anything you are currently using.
