Default unemployment as a result of losing my part time job even though i also have a full time job

I have 2 jobs-a full time week day job (40 hours) and a part time weekend job (34 hours). The weekend job is at a group home- part of the hours worked there are for 2 asleep overnights. The agency is restructuring their employees' schedules at this group home(and all of their other group homes,as well, in order to save money). As a result, i will no longer be able to work at the group home as none of the schedules they are offering are compatible with my continuing to work at my full time week day job. I am wondering if I can get unemployment as a result of having to leave this weekend job even though I will continue to work full time at my weekday job. I need 2 jobs as i am putting my children through college. I work in human service jobs so the wages are not all that high in either of my jobs.

No you would not be able to get unemployment because you are employed somewhere else... On an unemployment weekly claim form it would ask have you been applying for work.. Or if a job was offered to you would you be able to start work... So I doubt they would know you're working and still give you unemployment ... But you can try i suppose... But be truthful and see what they say

Maybe, but with limitations. Most states will allow you to file for unemployment however, any benefits you qualify for will probably be offset by your earnings from your primary job. The other problem is whether or not your termination is voluntary or not - technically, you turned down the opportunity to continue to work, so you could be a deemed a voluntary separation, which in most states makes you ineligible.

Apply. You probably won't be eligible, but have nothing to lose by applying.
