Default has anyone ever gotten help by their city or county for paying rent

Im trying to get help paying my rent for the 5th of Dec by a local "charity" cause i'm literally struggling. They told me to come in next week i guess to apply for help and they asked how much i needed for this month. Does that sound promising that they will help me? Do u think there's a waiting list? Im just worried...

We are all struggling!

No way to really tell, my crystal ball is in the shop!

But I have known of instances where an organization had led someone to believe they'd be able to help, that person went and spent the rent money on their over due electric bill and then the charity said, sorry. Not enough funds this month.

It's a sad situation. She was a nice kid, but I have to get my rent money every month, or I can't pay MY mortgage!

If you aren't going to be able to pay in full, let your landlord/prop mgmt know asap. Maybe they'll have some flexibility to work with you. Maybe not. But it's best to be pro-active and let them know in advance.

They have limited funds. They help those that need it more (have more children) first, and then by who needs the lessor amount. You may lose out if they can help 2 families for the same amount you want for yourself.
