Default would a deferred charge cause a 3rd party background company to not hire me

I just applied for a job and received a offer letter. The employer told me that the offer is contingent after passing a background/drug screening. I found this out after I put my two week notice in with my current employer. I have a deferred charge of "bribery" in the state of GA but I live in Texas. I also received a DUI at the same time of the other charge. I have performed two background checks on myself and neither charge has shown...but I know with extensive background checks it's bond to
appear. The employer is a Equal Opportunity employer but I'm afraid I will not pass my bg check and I will be left with no job. Can anyone give me some advice on this?

Keep your fingers crossed.

Those are pretty serious charges.

All employers are "EEO employers." That's the law.

Part of the answer may depend on how long ago you were charged with those offenses. But I'm guessing they're fairly recent.

That bribery charge is going to knock you out of any job in which you handle money or funds.

And one other point: Did you tell the complete truth on your job application? Some ask if you've been charged with crimes. Others ask if you've been convicted of crimes. Some ask if you've been convicted of felonies. In other words, it's sometimes possible to be charged--sometimes even possible to be convicted of a misdemeanor--and not raise a red flag on the job application. Still, you've got to be absolutely honest. If not, even if you do get hired, you can be fired later for lying on your application.

Hope that helps.
